A Day of Action: Caring For Our Community
This past week, The Community Assignment was among several organizations gathered at Utica Avenue and Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn to participate in a day community service, hosted by the the 67th Precinct Clergy Council Inc. (also known as the GodSquad), a national faith-based non-profit organization geared towards ending gun violence.
The main objective was to provide persons who needed the bare necessities to help them get through the day and maybe the next: a hot shower, a hot meal, a change of clothing, and some toiletries.
The day was well spent and it was an honor to meet some new faces and connect with hearts that are passionately driven to serve those who need help the most.
Take a look at some of the great connections we made.
And most importantly, we had a fun time serving our community and seeing smiles of joy throughout the day, confirming that the services we provide through God’s grace, truly make a difference. We continue to press onwards with our mission of serving the underserved in our neighborhoods and we look forward to future collaborations with those whose hearts are driven to do the same.
